Instructional Tech Specialist
Purpose
This award recognizes exemplary personnel who work with one or more campuses in technology planning and curriculum integration.
This may include, but is not limited to: instructional teacher technologists, technology specialists, technology trainers, and technology facilitators. This award was created to recognize the significant contribution these individuals make toward the successful use of technology on their campuses.
Eligibility
The candidate for TCEA Instructional Technology Specialist of the Year shall hold a valid Teacher (Texas) certification. His/her primary job responsibility is facilitating instructional technology.

2008 Instructional Technology Specialist of the Year Tonya Hardin
Tonya Hardin, Instructional Technology Coordinator in Northwest ISD, demonstrates skills beyond the left-brained technical realm. In her role, her duties include coordinating all DL/VC events for the district and preparing and modeling lessons through district-wide training sessions. She creates teacher-friendly resources that empower teachers to successfully implement what they are learning. She envisioned, created, and coordinated the district’s summer programs for students and she coordinates and revises the district “Technology Proficiency” program. |
