2008 Librarian of the Year
Julie Dillard

Julie Dillard, librarian for Celeste ISD, is not only responsible for maintaining the district’s three libraries, she is largely responsible for its success with technology. She guided teachers through the unknown when learning to use Unitedstreaming and overhead projectors. She also helped coordinate the installation of the equipment. One of her greatest strengths is that she has not forgotten what it is like to be a classroom teacher. She guides teachers and students through the use of the Virtual Library on the web site, which she maintains, and also introduced Inspiration software for students to use to construct graphic organizers for their research.
