TCEA Educator Awards 2008-2009
Technology Administrator of the Year
Purpose:
This award is presented to a technology administrator who exhibits exemplary vision and management of technology at the district level.
Eligibility:
The TCEA Technology Administrator of the Year award is open to all public, private and parochial district technology administrators. The primary responsibility of the applicant must be supervisory/administrative/training activities in technology. Nominees must be members of TCEA. (Non-members may submit membership and dues at the time of entry). Previous nominees are eligible and encouraged to enter. Active TCEA Board members are not eligible to receive this award.
Application Requirements:
- Complete the online entry. Nominees will be asked to provide links to or e-mail supporting evidence for some items.
- As part of the online application, each nominee will be asked to provide personal information including:
- Number of years teaching
- Professional resume or link to a resume online
- Awards and Honors
- Professional Organization
- Additional information relating to this Award
- Each nominee must provide the names of three (3) professional references one of which must be his or her immediate supervisor. The references will be contacted and asked to complete an online questionnaire.
Three finalists will be chosen who must be able to attend the state TCEA Convention where the Administrator of the Year will be announced.

Awards
The TCEA Technology Administrator of the Year shall receive an engraved plaque and $1,000 from TCEA. Two finalists will receive a plaque and $500. The TCEA Technology Administrator of the Year will be announced during a private awards ceremony and a keynote session at the TCEA State Convention. The three finalists will be notified by telephone prior to the state convention. Recognition of the winners will be published in the TechEdge and posted to the TCEA web site: www.tcea.org.
One award winner(other than Teacher of the Year) will be selected for entry in the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Outstanding Leader of the Year. For more information, please visit www.iste.org and click on Member Resources under Membership.
Applications must be submitted online on or before Dec. 1, 2008
Applicants will be disqualified if all information is not completed and submitted to TCEA by the deadline. A committee of TCEA members will rate each application.
