TCEA Professional Development Academies

Have you ever felt like you just didn’t get enough from a training session? Does the one-time, one-shot training not meet your needs?

Professional Development Academies begin at the TCEA annual convention and continue later in the year at the TCEA Austin training facility. They include 30- and 32-hour courses on Adobe Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash and Acrobat Pro 9 and a 60-hour course on how to become familiar with teaching in an online environment and how to build an online classroom.

These courses are designed to provide an in-depth exploration of the content and span over a six-month. They require a separate registration, which includes convention registration. The course curriculum will be delivered as hands-on instruction in a lab setting and in an online environment as a means to enhance the learning experience.

What’s the difference between a one-time training session and TCEA’s Professional Development Academies?

  • become highly skilled through instructor led courses, assisted assignments, and differentiated instruction through both hands-on and online learning environments
  • explore, learn, connect, and interact with peers and experts
  • conceptualize, develop, and execute real world projects that have end results
  • receive ongoing support through the course of the class
  • earn graduate and CPE credits (where applicable)
  • become immersed in a series of structured learning experiences as a means for further improvement and development
  • engage in learning environments that will promote the success of content recall and application
