Learn the latest robotics technology from LEGO Education and how to teach it to your students. Not only will you learn how to construct and program robots, using the new Technic Building System found in the NXT brick, you will also learn new ideas to implement as part of your school’s science and math curriculum. The new NXT brick contains expanded capabilities and wireless Bluetooth that enables more programming for behaviors.

 

Participants maybe totally new to integrating robotics into their classrooms or current users of our RCX based robotics programs. Attendees of this workshop will cover how robotics can be used as an instructional tool to help students with developing critical thinking skills and scientific problem solving to make decisions.

Twenty-first century technology skills and a creative approach to education have become necessities in this constantly changing world. The current generation of millennial kids, who grew up on video games and iPods, demands that the schools rise to the challenge.

 

So how can you develop and implement a vision of 1:1 technology for your district? This training will cover curriculum revision strategies for all grade levels and examine the role of 1:1 technology. This course will serve as a crash course on using Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Flash. Participants will learn how to create and manage a school web site using Adobe Dreamweaver, design and publish web-ready graphics using Adobe Fireworks, and create simple web-ready animations using Adobe Flash.

Are you ready to take your school web site to the next level?  If so, then sign up for intermediate/advanced web mastering class.   This two-day workshop will focus on designing and maintaining a school web site that separates content from layout.  This course will focus on using Adobe Dreamweaver and Fireworks for managing web pages and web graphics --- with particular focus on CSS techniques to control layout and design.

This course will guide the attendee through the ins and outs of troubleshooting the Windows XP Professional environment.  The course will start by introducing Windows XP and explaining the enhancements provided with the latest service pack.  Next, the focus will turn to the many ways to install and deploy the operating system and the difference between a workgroup and domain.  Through hands-on labs, the attendee will master skills needed to troubleshoot different types of hardware issues and the different security issues within Windows XP Pro.  The course will end by introducing free troubleshooting tools that are available to Windows users.

We invite you to be Blinded with Science and then Hit with Technology using Vernier Probes, HiTechnics Sensors and NXT Robots.

 

This new 2 day workshop from LEGO Education is designated for the intermediate/advanced user in a middle/secondary classroom that teaches chemistry, algebra, physics, or engineering.

 

In this workshop participants will build and program the following:

This course will guide the attendee through configuring and managing Windows Active Directory.  Topics covered will include; best practice OU configuration, creating/importing user/group accounts, creating Group Policies (scripts will be touched on), and configuring Sites and Services.

This course will teach participants how to write custom Visual Basic scripts that will allow him/her to better manage the end user desktop.  Topics will include; stopping services, mapping drives, mapping printers, setting the default printer, and importing users into Active Directory.  The course will end by introducing the concept of using the WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation).
