Greetings and welcome to Area One

TCEA Area 1is located in the semi-desert deep South Texas /Northern Mexico Border region on the banks of the Rio Grande River. It has several inland ports of entry beginning with Brownsville, Texas at the very southern tip of the state extending North-West to Laredo, Texas, the largest inland port in the United States. The seven counties of TCEA Area I include: Cameron, Hidalgo, Jim Hogg, Starr, Web, Willacy, and Zapata. Within the region are 27 school districts and 21 charter schools. TCEA Area 1 is comprised of vibrant communities rich in culture and tradition and eager to enrich its schools with innovative educational technology strategies and state of the art equipment.

The mission of the TCEA Area 1 director, resources, and innovative technology advocates/presenters, is to promote, enhance and augment educational technology methodologies and strategies to more effectively augment the use and effectiveness of integrated curriculum instruction technology in South Texas school districts.

The Texas Computer Education Association is the largest state organization devoted to the use of technology in education.
Founded in 1980, the organization has been very active throughout Texas supporting instructional technology.
