Area 8
Director
Hello! My name is Amanda, I have been a member of TCEA for 6 years. The longer I am with this organization the more I realize the benefits it has to offer. Attending the TCEA conference every year gives everyone the opportunity to network, share innovative ideas, and learn about products that help us give our students a learning environment that is stimulating and engaging.
My career in education began at Clarksville ISD. I have had the opportunity to work for the district for six years beginning as the 8th grade science teacher and then my second and third year teaching as the science teacher in the 6th grade.
My current position with the district is as Director of Curriculum and Instructional Technology. From 2004 to 2007 I was in the position of Instructional Technology Coordinator. While in that position, Clarksville ISD implemented the Technology Immersion Pilot Grant (TIP). We were very fortunate to be able to provide every student in the school district with a wireless mobile device.
My educational background consists of a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Master's degree in Science in Learning Technologies and Information Systems (Educational Technology) with an emphasis on Media Technology.
I have had the opportunity to make presentations and present workshops and at various conferences and symposiums on both the state and national level. Some of the presentations took place at NECC, SETDA, The Texas Computer Education Association (TCEA), The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB); Irving ISD's One-to-One Symposium; Technology Immersion Pilot Conference; and various staff developments.
As Area 8 Director for TCEA, it would be my pleasure to offer any assistance I can to you. If you have any questions, suggestions, or ideas, please let me know.
