Area 8

Welcome to the Area 8 website!

Area 8 includes 48 school districts, 5200 professional educators, and 56,000 students. While one of the smallest areas, it has the second highest percentage of membership.

Area 8 has become one of the most innovative regions in the implementation of technology in education.  Some of the activities planned for this coming year include an area conference, robotics training and competitions, and mini-conferences and workshops for campus and district-level technology trainers. Check back for a list of upcoming events.

TCEA offers a wide variety of trainings for all educators. We welcome you to join our organization and encourage your participation at the annual conference in Austin.

Important Area 8 Dates:

Wednesday, November 11 - 21st Century Technology Vision: District Leadership. This event is for campus and district administrators.

Saturday, December 5 - Area 7/8 Robotics Competition at UT Tyler.

Monday, January 11 - Area 8 Digital Media Expo - For all teachers.
