Richard A. Brown Memorial Scholarship for Students: These $1,000 scholarships are awarded to deserving students who are pursuing a career in education. The scholarships were named for the late Richard A. Brown.
Three scholarships are available per year. Past recipients include: 2011-12 - Brooke Ansley
2010-11 - Andrew Huckle
2009-10 - Ivette Ceron Robledo
To apply, one must:
Be a full time student at an accredited college or university (12 hours or more)
Have successfully completed at least 24 hours of college
Be pursuing a career in education
Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 on a scale of 4.0
A statement of personal and family information including financial need, if any.
Three letters of recommendation (not to exceed one page)
Two should be from past or present instructors, department heads, or administrators
Individual of choice
A copy of your college transcript to date
A one page personal profile including
Philosophy of the importance of technology in education
Goals in the field of education

Active TCEA board members are not eligible to receive these awards.
Applications must be received on or before November 9, 2012.
Applicants will be disqualified if all information is not completed and submitted to TCEA by the deadline. A committee of TCEA board members and other educators will rate each application.
