I Can Read and Write with the iPad
This fast-paced, hands-on session will focus on the effective use of ELA apps, interactive books, and ebooks to help elementary students master reading and writing. Bring your iPad or iPad mini and learn about great apps for content creation. Receive tips and tricks for use of the iOS devices in centers, in small groups, and in 1:1.
Make and Take 2.0
This isn't your typical Make and Take session. You'll have access to the Internet and Web 2.0 sites to help in the creation of your projects. Whether it is folder games, charts, items for your bulletin boards or your Word Wall, you'll find all the resources you need to make it here. We'll have a plethora of supplies (as well as some samples) to help you use technology to experience an awesome Make and Take session.
Creative and Effective PD
In this hands-on, active session, you’ll learn and experience best practices for designing professional development. We’ll discuss how using non-traditional professional development methods can assist you in supporting your peers and teachers. This session is designed for instructional specialists, administrators, and teachers who are charged with providing professional development to their districts. Lots of resources to accompany the fun and learning we’ll have together in this unique session.
Creating Interactive Classrooms with Google Tools
Come learn how you can take advantage of the Google Apps suite and Google tools to schedule appointments with your parents and students, set up quizzes and assessments, explore the world using Maps, Earth and Sky, venture into the web using custom search engines and so much more. These three hours will be packed with lesson activities, tools for productivity, and resources to make your classroom come alive with Google.
Technology for the 21st Century Classroom
Janet Corder and Joan Gore will provide online resources, activities and strategies to help classroom teachers effectively integrate new and existing technologies into the classroom. Participants will explore Web 2.0 tools, activities for mobile devices that enrich the curriculum (not just games), ideas for using technology tools that correlate to Bloom’s verbs and methods for using technology to make your classroom an engaging place where kids are excited to be! Be sure to bring your laptop for an engaging time of hands-on learning and fun!
