Crayons4Teachers: Implementing the UbiquitousLearning Environment Design Guide with HandheldComputer ApplicationsSue ElwoodTexas A&M University, Corpus Christi
ABSTRACT: The Crayons4Teachers project seeks to integrate technology in PK-16 settings using inventive interpretations of basic integrated applications. Recent research through practical implementation has led developments within this site to more ubiquitous, portable learning environmental applications. This paper reports on initiatives to restructure teachers’ experiences to support the integration of technology through a portable learning environment instructional design guide used primarily in pre-K and elementary classroom settings within portable learning environments. This article focuses on an overview of a Type II applications design guide as related to the Crayons4Teachers initiative with some preliminary observations in implementing the tool with preservice teachers.
